S5....
I'm due for a phone upgrade....

I went into the Sprint store on Tuesday to pick up an LG G2 and they had literally sold the last one 15 minutes earlier but said more would be in on Wednesday.  Had an unexpected meeting and never made it back to the store.

I think the IT gods are trying to tell me to wait....now I know why :-)

"...Galaxy S3 and Galaxy S4, which look practically identical."
I really don't understand people saying that S3 and S4 look alike. They are similar in size but they are shaped obviously too different. I've switched from S3 to S4 and ther performance is significantly improved. People need to quit whining. If you don't like the design, don't buy it!

a solid phone.
Honestly I would give up thumb print scanners, facial recognition, even screen resolution for just a solid phone that has a solid frame and that is reliable and fast. Android OS preferred.

Re: S5....
I think that there is a place for plastic over metal in some smartphones. It's all about the feel if you ask me. I think that plastic is less susceptible to temperature changes, so it seems much more welcoming in my hands than metal.

I think that is a personal preference, however.
