Engineering Drawings, TV Spot Of The G1 Android Phone Surface
The engineering drawings found by the Android Guys are nice to see, but they don't necessarily represent what will be the final version of the hardware of the G1 phone. Even so, the drawings shed some light on possible features of the phone. According to "a trusted source," there are some interesting surprises seen in the drawings. The Android Guys write, "One noticeable difference is the slight tilt to the bottom of the handset where the trackball is located. Although it's a small change, it's worth noting. We love the 5 row QWERTY keyboard with the spaced out buttons... We're curious to see what that 'menu' button is for as well... Check out the back of the device where it shows 'With Google' on it. It tells us that T-Mobile and HTC are using the brand recognition to help sell the handset." The dimensions of the device found in the engineering drawings match those revealed by FCC documents. This consistency lends an air of authenticity to the engineering documents. Hitting us with the second of two sucker punches, the Android Guys have the inside scoop on an upcoming television commercial for the G1. They say the information came from someone they believe to be an employee of the agency that is making the commercial (who would probably be fired for sharing these details). Here is a summary of the commercial: Setting is after hours in a computer/science lab Whether or not these details are genuine can't be confirmed. The blogosphere is speculating that the G1 will be announced no later than September. With CTIA falling in the second week of the month, HTC, Google, and T-Mobile have the perfect opportunity to announce their newest darling to the world. « What To Expect From Airline Internet Services | Main | 'Mad Men' Characters Get Twitter Accounts » |
