AT&T: BlackBerry Bold Goes On Sale November 4
Why AT&T picked Election Day to release the BlackBerry Bold is anyone's guess. What matters is that the BlackBerry Bold, delayed for nearly four months, will finally reach the market. It is going to cost $300 after rebates and new two-year agreement. Lest we forget what it can do, some key takeaways. The Bold has domestic and global 3G capabilities (including ability to use it in Japan and South Korea) via what AT&T says is the "nation's fastest 3G network and broadest international coverage footprint." It has built-in assisted GPS and Wi-Fi, and support for simultaneous voice and data. It also can access a host of AT&T's services, such as CV (cellular video), AT&T Navigator Global Edition, and AT&T Mobile Music services. Other specs include Bluetooth 2.0, 2-megapixel camera with flash, support for microSD cards up to 16 GB, and of course RIM's famous e-mail services. Mike Lazaridis, president and co-CEO at Research In Motion, said: "The development of the BlackBerry Bold smartphone was an ambitious undertaking, and we focused intensely on the things that are most important to mobile customers when developing this best-in-class smartphone for HSDPA networks around the world. The BlackBerry Bold exudes quality in everything from its stunning display sharpness and incredible keyboard to its premium phone performance and sophisticated software applications. It provides an extraordinary mobile communications and multimedia experience, and we are very proud to introduce this breakthrough smartphone in the United States together with AT&T." It's about frakking time. « Shell's Progress On UC | Main | Clustered NAS In The Cloud » |
