If you wanted to get the G1 on the cheap, looks like Wal-Mart is the way to go.The HTC G1 is by no means an expensive phone. The $179.99 price point (with contract) is within reach and within reason, considering all that you get with the device. But if you're in the mood to pinch pennies, Wal-Mart's continual price slashing is going to save you more than a few.
Starting tomorrow, Wednesday, Oct. 29, interested buyers can snag a G1 at the discounted price of $148.88. That's $31 less than T-Mobile sells the G1. According to Wal-Mart spokesperson Melissa O'Brien, the G1 will be available at 550 Wal-Mart locations across the U.S. The $148.88 price point is valid for new users and for existing T-Mobile customers who are eligible for upgrades.
