On Tuesday, Nokia kicks off its own Nokia World show in Barcelona, Spain. According to what I've been told by Nokia staffers, Nokia CEO Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo will be dropping a huge bomb during his keynote address. The device is so secret that most Nokia employees haven't seen it yet.

I am on-site in Barcelona for the event and have been shuttled around by Nokia's Social Media staff. Over the last several days, we've been given nothing more than hints at what is being announced. One Nokia staffer said this is easily the best-kept secret that Nokia has ever managed to prevent from leaking onto the Internet.

The device is so secret that Nokia employees are not allowed to e-mail pictures of the device to one another internally, and many know nothing about it. Right now, most are guessing that OPK (as Nokia's CEO is affectionately known) will be announcing an N Series device with touch input. Could this device be Nokia's real iPhone killer (unlike the 5800)? Only time will tell.

I've been scanning the Web today and there is a lot of chatter about this mystery device. Many are hoping that Nokia ditches the Symbian platform for this new device, but I don't see that happening. Nokia did a pretty decent job of adapting S60 for touch input as seen on the 5800. If whatever is announced tomorrow makes a few improvements with respect to touch (fewer menus, please!), it could be a much better iPhone competitor.
