A comic book released at launch tells the Google Chrome story. It uses the graphic novel format to explain how Chrome was developed, why certain choices were made by the development team, and it explains features and functions of the new browser. This panel introduces the "omnibox" -- so named because it combines the functionality of the traditional search bar and address bar.

This panel introduces the "omnibox" -- so named because it combines the functionality of the traditional search bar and address bar.  Entering a search term in the omnibox pulls up a familiar-looking search results page.  Thumbnails on Chrome's clean home page make it easy to see where you've recently been, and to return there in just a click. Recent bookmarks and recently closed tabs are highlighted on the right side, and there are two places to search: the search box, and the omnibox.  Some reviewers have noticed hiccups in Chrome's ability to stream video; but Chrome had no trouble streaming MLB.com Red Sox highlights.  Google Chrome's task manager is familiar to anyone who has used Windows task manager.  There are no surprises in Chrome's options window. Fine tune your browser settings using the three tabs: Basics, Minor Tweaks, and Under The Hood.  A cartoon spy icon in the top left corner of the browser indicates incognito mode. Google says "Webpages that you open and files downloaded while you are incognito won't be logged in your browsing and download histories; all new cookies are deleted after you close the incognito window. Websites you visit may still have records of your visit."  Type about:memory in the omnibar and this page of nerdly memory stats pops up.
