From here we can use Acrobat to send .PDF-rendered print jobs to the printer.  Ed Hamrick's remarkable VueScan, which works with just about every scanner known to man, under 32- or 64-bit Windows alike.  An instance of IrfanView running in XP Mode, sans desktop integration.
