April 29 marked the first day the HTC Droid Incredible was available to Verizon Wireless customers. The device, which boasts great specs, is selling hotly, and Verizon retail shops are running out of stock -- if they haven't already. The HTC Droid Incredible is a winner by almost all counts. The only real detraction the device has is poor battery life. Most other aspects of the phone make it a winner, and the best smartphone available from Verizon Wireless. Buyers have taken notice.

As of now, the device is sold on out Verizon Wireless' web site. There's a note that says "Due to high demand, this device will ship by 5/7." In other words, Verizon Wireless' warehouses are hardly able to keep it in stock. Same goes for retail shops.

I called a number of stores this afternoon and found that most had already sold through their stock of Droid Incredible's. The two stores closest to my home were sold out, as was the Best Buy. BestBuy.com appears to still have the Incredible in stock.

Right now, Best Buy is your best bet, especially since it is charging $200 on its site for the device. Verizon is asking for $300 at the register, and promises to send a $100 debit card if customers remember to send in the rebate.

If you can't wait for delivery, be sure to call your local Verizon Wireless store before leaving the house this weekend.
