Today Research In Motion took to the stage at its Wireless Enterprise Symposium event to share information about the company. The company threw out a lot of numbers. Here's the most significant set.Call this post "BlackBerry by the Numbers." The company was happy to offer analysts and press the statistics that it believes are relevant to its performance.

RIM has sold more than 90 million BlackBerry devices since it debuted. (Apple has sold more than 50 million iPhones since 2007)

RIM has sold 10.5 million BlackBerries in the last financial quarter. (Apple sold over 8 million iPhones.)

There are more than 550 wireless network operator partners selling BlackBerries.

There are 250,000+ registered developers for the BlackBerry platform.

There are 250,000+ active BlackBerry Enterprise Servers.

The company boasts that it has seen 200,000% growth since its IPO in 1998.

RIM has 14,000 employees.

There are over 1 million apps downloaded from the BlackBerry Apps World each day.

There are 6,500+ apps available in the BlackBerry Apps World. (Apple has over 150,000, Google has somewhere north of 40,000)

There are 41 million active users of BlackBerry smartphones.

About 20% -- or 8 million -- BlackBerry users are on devices running OS 5.0.

About 50% of all BES customers have updated to BES 5.0.

BlackBerry claims to be the #1 smartphone supplier in the U.S., and the #2 smartphone supplier worldwide. (Nokia is number one worldwide.)

BlackBerry owns 44% of the U.S. smartphone market. Apple has 19%, Motorola 13%, HTC 12%, 'Others' 7% and Palm 5%.
