They say everyone gets 15 minutes of fame. For Web- hosting company PrimeLight eCommerce Inc. those 15 minutes has expired.

The vendor had fashioned itself as the E-commerce backbone behind the trends and style of online designer sites such as Tarina Tarantino, Bisou-Bisou, SOCO Paris, and California North. But PrimeLight has run out of funding. And some of its clients appear to be unhappy with PrimeLight's performance.

In an online letter to its customers, Tarina Tarantino wrote: "We at Tarina Tarantino Studios are deeply sorry for any poor service you may have experienced while ordering from our Web site. Until recently all E-commerce, fulfillment, and customer service was handled by PrimeLight eCommerce- -a separate entity from Tarina Tarantino Studios."

In the letter, Tarantino says it terminated its relationship with PrimeLight earlier this month because PrimeLight was bankrupt and going out of business. Tarantino is currently moving its Web site in-house. But having to switch hosting facilities may be the least of Tarantino's problems.

Tarantino had allowed PrimeLight to process all online orders and handle customer service. The company's letter goes on to say, "It has come to our attention that there have been many problems regarding unsent or incomplete orders and returns, as well as numerous unanswered customer service calls. We are now doing our best to get all previous order information from PrimeLight and take care of any problematic orders we come across. Any orders placed prior to June 5th were charged through PrimeLight and we may have difficulty correcting monetary issues with those orders. We are doing our best to get on top of that situation."

Shopping on jewelry-maker Tarina Tarantino's site has come to a temporary halt. A spokesman from Bisou-Bisou says his company is discussing options with PrimeLight. He was unsure what the company would do moving forward.

At press time, no one from Tarantino or PrimeLight was available to comment.
