Cognos Upgrades Financial Reporting Tool

Cognos has released an upgrade of its controller software that enables finance teams to automate the close process from data collection to financial consolidation to reporting.

Enhancements in Cognos 8 Controller version 8.2, released this week, include the ability to time stamp data access and load, and maintain an original unchanged version of source data. The feature is meant to help ensure data quality, and provide an audit trail.

The upgrade can be integrated with Cognos 8 planning and business intelligence products, offering a single of operational and financial data. The new version also provides domain capabilities to account for different geographies and financial jurisdictions.

Cognos 8 Controller version 8.2 is scheduled for release next month.
