The future of sales
These cases are always interesting, because they never tell the full, or true story of infringement. Let's face it, if Samsung hadn't infringed Apple in many ways, such as with the look and feel, it's likely their smartphone sales would be much less than they are, and that Apple's would be much larger. So there will be fines for specific products, and portions thereof, infringed, but the overall effect those infringements have had on the respective companies has much more wide ranging long term effects. And that is never accounted for in these trials. It's likely that literally billions, and possibly tens of billions of dollars a year has been transferred from Apple to Samsung as a result of these infringements. That may never come back.
