Sure, you might be able to get the BlackBerry 8520 Curve for a penny over at Amazon.com, but Slacker is giving away BlackBerry 8300-series Curves for free. All you need to do is sign up for a new contract with AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, or Verizon Wireless. The free BlackBerries are being given away as part of a promotion from Slacker Radio, which apparently is stoked that its Internet radio program has seen more than a million downloads. The company said on its Web site, "Slacker is giving away free BlackBerry smartphones to our listeners in celebration of the overwhelming success of the Slacker Radio mobile application."

Verizon Wireless recently pushed the Slacker Radio application to the BlackBerry Storm and Tour handsets that are subscribed to its networks. Personally, I really dig Slacker Radio on my iPhone, Storm and my laptop. It's a great way to listen to and discover new music.

What do you need to do to get a free BlackBerry? Nothing but sign up. The offer is fulfilled by Simplexity, which is an authorized dealer for AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon Wireless. To get a free BlackBerry users need to sign up for a new two-year contract with any of those four providers with a voice plan of at least $40 per month. Data plans may also be required.

Which Curves will users get? Those who choose AT&T will get a BlackBerry Curve 8310. T-Mobile users get the Wi-Fi-enabled Curve 8320. Those who choose either Sprint and Verizon will receive the Curve 8330.

If a new contract doesn't bug you too much, be sure to check it out!
