Google Fiber
It seems like this may be another Google flame-out, which is s shame. It's an ambitious project that would land them in the national infrastructure space along with cable companies and others. But one which doesn't seem to make sense in terms of numbers. I wonder if the utopian view of this was that consumers and others can pick and choose from alternative forms of connectivity.

Seems reasonable.
I'd hardly call it a flame-out.  While Google, like Frank Underwood, understands that power is better than money, it is indeed in business to make money.  Their Google-Fiber plans are like those of drug pushers.  Give people a taste for free a low-cost, then once you have your hooks in them you can start charging them actual market value.

Here, it looks like the costs of Google Fiber in KC are more than fair.  (But then, I live in Boston -- where lots of things cost a lot more than they do in the rest of the country.)
