Welcome to our new end-of-the-week feature. Welcome to our new end-of-the-week feature. The clever and astute might recall seeing a similar incarnation on the Network Computing Blogs a while back. I convinced (read: fast-talked and begged) the powers-that-be that this would be a fun way to bid the last five days buh-bye and head into the weekend. For our inaugural video, we've got a clever little mashup that's been making the rounds. Created as a school project, it's an "alternate opening sequence" for Star Wars -- had the movie been filmed 20 years earlier and created by graphic designer and Academy Award-winning filmmaker Saul Bass.

The result is a hilarious and classic tribute to Bass' style, a long-gone era and a Galaxy Far, Far Away.

As a bonus -- check out this "response" video, created as a gentle knock against Star Wars creator George Lucas' obsession with tinkering with his masterpieces.

Tell us what you think of the video in the comments section below. Any suggestions you have for future Viral Videos of the Week? Send them to me at [email protected] (but they gotta be clean, folks!)
