This isn't "Android Mojo" - you remember RIM bought Gist?

This article is so stupid and doesn't give you the correct information. The author first has to see a BlackBerry phone and then talk about it. Even the BlackBerry OS 6.0 has these features and that was released 3 years back.

re: RIM To Sprinkle Android Mojo Into BlackBerry 10
"We are just going to make it better yet again, when we launch BB10."

The singular problem is no one is waiting for BB10 anymore. The ship sailed and they never made it to the dock and were too busy packing.

Sorry RIM, your fate was sealed quite some time ago, the date was exactly when the Storm was released. You had a few small opportunities after that but anyone could see the frustration in the eyes of your corporate sales staff, the glossy eyed looks from your customers and the lip smacking hunger of Apple and Google.

RIM, you are done, toasted, baked and skewered. What if left is a mediocre customer base that only pays you while they desperately look for something else. The only thing you have left? A keyboard so many business customer love but there too, even HTC is looking to take that away.

How long does a chicken run around after it's head is cut off? How long before RIM realizes it's over? Same same.

T.A. McCann also commented, I assume in the same interview, that these features were especially important in the emerging economies growth markets, where the BlackBerry is still a respected and thriving device.
While not disagreeing with jp1949 I do think that emulating your competitor is a necessary risk; albeit RIM must then innovate above and beyond android or iOS if they are to survive.
In that respect it is important to evaluate RIM from a global perspective (not natural to we Americans) as so many features of the communication revolution are instruments of socio-economic progress (Banking, Commercial Transactions, etc.) rather than the shallow vanities of Facebook.

This proves how far RIM became when they were missing so many innovative features that came out by the competitors.

I wonder if RIM will be now sued for patent violations if they are borrowing ideas from others, because, the competitors have tons of cash to sue little old weak, downsizing RIM.

It could be dog pile on RIM this next year.
