Actually, if you were worried before, you still should be -- nothing changes about the data centers. There still is a data center in Warren, and at the same location there will be an innovation center where this development work happens. That is the new piece of news that we didn't know in July -- that this 1,500 person team of development-oriented staff will be at Warren, along with the data center.

I agree GAProgrammer that it looks like a lot rehashed from the July article and perhaps an effort to get the name Mott back in the press. And like I said in that case, 2 DCs in the same area subject to brownouts or disservice due to environment conditions would have been a DR planning fundamental failure. I guess understanding now that one of the two is a dedicated "innovation" center (implies non operational in nature) changes that.

HP said GM would hire all HP worker's currently working for HP at GM.

GM would assume all liabilities for the workers the Deal is going forward as far as we know.

GM will have to pay penalties for ending the contract early to HP.

It is almost like GM is buying back EDS strange. GM stating they were hiring 1500 IT in GM but it did not say where from.

HP has lost the GM contract that is a done deal. The HP workers were told in August about this.

The Current GM IT employees are not supposed to know about the deal to convert HP IT to GM IT.

Perhaps it is just being stated due to election times looks good in the press that 1500 IT workers are to be hired.

I hope it is an extra 1500 IT workers not just the 6000 HP workers Nation wide to be covered to GM IT.

There are Many H1B's that will be converted from HP IT to GM IT. The HP workers from around the world will be converted from HP IT to GM IT.

No, I don't believe it did. We wrote in July that GM would have 1 of its 4 new dev centers in Michigan, and that Warren would be one of its two data centers. We wrote last month that a dev center would be in Austin. But this is the first confirmation of Warren as a dev center.
