Issues with Mobile Content Management and Delivery
Content requirements of Mobile Apps continue to expand to include rich content - images, videos, etc. At the same time the performance unknowns of spotty wireless networks and dropped connections. make it difficult to reliably deliver rich content to mobile devices.
Delivery of rich mobile content eats up a lot of bandwidth. Many a time the content is not sized to match the screen dimensions of the mobile device, which adds on to the bandwidth costs.
Managing rich content is yet another pain point. Appstores like Google Play constrain you to bundle all your rich content into monolithic expansion files. Any updates to your rich content requires you to release a new version of your Mobile App.
In my view, mobile content management requires a solution that can reliably deliver content, optimize bandwidth usage, provides flexibility in managing content, and is easy to use.
