re: Open Source WebOS: A Win For Windows Phone?
It would not seem to help Microsoft much. It doesn't hurt, because those who aren't looking to buy Android or iOS tablets won't be distracted by WebOS, but those were never going to be large numbers anyway. Microsoft would do well to make the learning curve going from Windows to Windows tablet easy. Some folks don't want to learn yet another OS interface. Microsoft would also do well to keep it's Appstore flexible and unobtrusive (don't be as onerous as Apple is). Microsoft Tablet OS will likely struggle to gain traction (just as Windows Phone is).
