Quake Technologies, Inc. (www.quaketech.com) is a fabless semiconductor company developing high-performance, mixed-signal, physical layer integrated circuits (ICs) for 10 Gb/s and 40 Gb/s optical networks.
Founded in April 2000 by an experienced team of optical networking executives and engineers, we have offices in Ottawa, Canada and San Jose, CA.
Markets
Quake’s ICs are 10G Ethernet, 10G Optical Internetworking Forum (OIF) and 40G OIF compliant, and are targeted at local area networks (LAN), metropolitan area networks (MAN), wide area networks (WAN) as well as storage area networks (SAN).
Our customer base is comprised of transceiver and transponder manufacturers. The markets for our products are expected to grow rapidly to more than $1 billion by 2004.
Our Edge
Quake’s exclusive focus on the physical layer has allowed us to rapidly gain leadership in developing ICs with peak performance that provide ultimate flexibility and density, and offer low-cost deployment for our customers.
Our unique approach earned us recognition as a top startup of 2001 by the Fabless Semiconductor Association.
Industry Leadership
We’re backed by key industry investors such as Mohr, Davidow Ventures (MDV), Bowman Capital, Cisco Systems, Skypoint Capital, Emerging Alliance Fund and Mitsubishi, raising $48 million in funding to-date.
Quake is involved in setting design standards with active participation in the IEEE Standards Association, the Optical Internetworking Forum and the 10 Gigabit Ethernet Alliance. We are ISO 9001 compliant.
