Nortel Network Case Study: Pike County School District

Date: January 2008
Type: White Paper
Rating: (0)

Overview: A Nortel Ethernet Routing Switch 8600 serves as a central hub for the school district network, sending and receiving traffic among three BellSouth remote hub sites via six Gigabit fiber connections. The need to upgrade the network gained greater urgency when the state adopted online proficiency testing for end-of-year evaluations. As the school district adopts Nortels more bandwidth-hungry applications, this high-performance network can easily keep pace, since it can scale up to 240 Gigabit Ethernet ports and 24 10-Gigabit Ethernet ports.
