Whitepaper: ZXTM Supports GreatSchools by helping with the ABCs: Application Acceleration, Bandwidth Savings and Content Compression

by Zeus TechnologyAug 20, 2008

Based in San Francisco, GreatSchools is an independent nonprofit organization committed to helping parents in the U.S. choose schools, support childrens education and improve schools in their communities.

Rising bandwidth costs and the growing number of visitors to the GreatSchools website had them looking for better ways to manage their bandwidth usage. Previously, they had a reverse-caching proxy server running on an open source proxy server, but this lacked the crucial ability to compress content if the clients browser supported compressed content. The proxy service also had no reporting or cache management tools and as the popularity of GreatSchools increased, the administrators needed to find a better solution. GreatSchools utilized ZXTM from Zeus Technology to address these problems and manage bandwidth usage.

Whitepaper: Rapattoni Corporation's 250+ Websites Roar with Speed Using ZXTM's Content Compression and Application Acceleration

by Zeus TechnologyApr 01, 2008

Rapattoni provides an array of integrated products and services for real estate associations and MLS organizations including Internet MLS systems, association management software, and Secure Logon with Single Sign-On (SSO) identity portals for online security and convenience. The company's MLS products are serving over 300,000 agents nationally and its association management customers represent more than 85% of the nation's Realtors - all of which have content-heavy sites run by Rapattoni - it is essential that Rapattoni consistently meet service level agreements (SLAs) to maintain their position as market leader.

For Rapattoni, three key factors in finding a suitable network performance solution were:
1) highly efficient content compression without sacrificing speed,
2) scalability for future growth and
3) platform flexibility. Rapattoni had become discouraged with proprietary networking hardware that was inflexible and quickly fell behind Moore's Law in terms of speed.

Zeus' ZXTM is the only solution to offer Layer 7 load balancing that was sophisticated and easy to manage, with the scalability that Rapattoni required.

Whitepaper: Getting more from Server Virtualization

by Zeus TechnologySep 01, 2007

Server Virtualization has dramatically changed the landscape in the datacenter. Organizations are consolidating workloads from underutilized servers and are seeing large reductions in datacenter space, power, cooling and administration. However, server consolidation is just the beginning of what can be achieved using virtualization technologies. Virtualization unleashes applications and compute workloads, breaking the ties that hold them to physical servers. This new-found freedom makes possible an entirely new datacenter architecture where the hardware serves the applications and the applications serve the business, rather than the other way round.
