Overview: North Tyneside Council wanted to enable a local council to achieve central government objectives of using technology to boost operational efficiency and public service delivery. A sophisticated, converged infrastructure based on the robust Nortel Ethernet Routing Switch portfolio and the Nortel Communication Server 1000, whilst smaller sites obtain advanced connectivity with the Nortel Business Communications Manager 50. Cutting-edge IP contact centre functionality is delivered by the Nortel Contact Center. Highly secure fixed access is provided by the Nortel VPN Router portfolio. This resulted in cost efficiency, Improved service, Increased flexibility, Increased security and high availability.
