Want to make the most of your netbook or laptop PC? Here are five Firefox extensions that can make working with a mobile PC a lot easier -- and possibly a bit cheaper, too.Linux Magazine went looking for Firefox extensions that are especially useful for mobile PC users. None of these extensions (or any others, for that matter) are made exclusively for mobile users. All of them, however, address some of the most common problems that mobile PC users face, including a lack of screen space, hard-to-use pointing devices, and even the sometimes high cost of mobile net access.

The list includes:

  • Adblock Plus, a sanity-saving, incredibly effective banner ad-blocking extension.

  • Mouseless Browsing, which gives you the ability to navigate Web page links using your keyboard.

  • Read It Later, a handy tool for tagging and retrieving pages you don't have time to read right away.

  • Minimap Firefox, a tool that enhances and provides additional features for Google Maps.

  • Personal Menu, which saves screen space by consolidating the entire Firefox Menu toolbar behind a single on-screen button.

Check out the full article for details, including some screen shots, on each of these extensions. And as always, the official Mozilla add-ons Web site provides a vast -- and secure -- repository containing hundreds of other useful Firefox extensions.
