Interwise Brings Real-Time Conferencing To EMC Documentum's Collaboration Software

EMC Corp. on Tuesday unveiled a partnership with Interwise Inc. to embed that vendor's enterprise conferencing capabilities into its Documentum eRoom collaboration software. With ECP Connect for eRoom, customers have access to live voice and video feeds, as well as Web conferencing.
Documentum eRoom presents a central collaboration point for employees working on common goals, deliverables, and outcomes. Such processes could also include customers, partners, and suppliers. Interwise adds live and asynchronous collaboration to the suite for ad hoc and scheduled collaboration.
The previous real-time shortcomings of eRoom caused many customers to turn to Microsoft's SharePoint, IDC analyst Robert Mahowald says. "But now IT managers could tell their users about similar robust real-time capabilities within eRoom."
