Brief: Dell, Symantec Gel E-Mail Partnership
A new joint offering is in the works, with details coming in a press conference planned for Wednesday.
Dell and Symantec are set to announce a new partnership in the area of e-mail solutions, the companies said Monday.
The companies will conduct a news conference Wednesday to unveil details of their agreement, including statements from Brad Anderson, senior vice president of Dell's product group, and Jeremy Burton, group president of Symantec's Enterprise Security and Data management Group.
The companies will "announce a significant expansion to its partnership through a new joint offering," they said in a statement. No further details were immediately available.
Dell, Round Rock, Texas, has been aggressively partnering with other technology vendors over the past several months, including a bundling deal announced in May with Google, Mountain View, Calif., as well as an agreement to build PCs and servers with chips from Advanced Micro Devices, Sunnyvale, Calif. Last week, Dell announced it was extending its storage alliance with EMC, Hopkinton, Mass.
