Nullsoft patched the Winamp music player Thursday in an update to version 5.22, the AOL-owned company said. It was the third time this year that it quashed Winamp bugs.

According to version 5.22's release notes posted to the Nullsoft site, the update fixes 26 flaws. The new edition can be downloaded from here for free; a Professional edition is also available for $19.95.

Two earlier 2006 Winamp updates -- including one labeled "extremely critical" by Danish vulnerability tracker Secunia in January -- have been deployed to rid the player of security problems.
