BT Unit Wins Services Deal With Honeywell
The carrier's business-services unit, BT Ignite, will manage the manufacturer's voice and data communications and networks at 220 sites in Western Europe.
The business-services division of U.K. communications company British Telecom said Wednesday that it has won a five-year deal to provide communications and networking services to Honeywell International Inc.
Under the deal, BT Ignite will manage all of Honeywell's voice and data communications, as well as its local and wide area computer networks at 220 sites in Western Europe. Terms of the deal were not announced.
Honeywell, a diversified manufacturer, is in the process of upgrading its communications networks using multiprotocol label-switching technology, which will allow it to more easily prioritize and manage traffic.
BT also has recently won contracts to provide IT services to Unilever and Abbey National.
