CA shipped a new version of its AllFusion Modeling Suite on Monday, featuring new technologies aimed at simplifying the design and analysis of database and data warehouse applications.

CA's AllFusion Modeling Suite r7 is sold through channel partners and through CA's online store, where a complete bundle of all the suite's components retails for $6,995. The suite's four modules -- ERwin Data Modeler, Model Manager, Process Modeler, and Data Model Validator -- can also be purchased separately.

The updated suite includes a generalized data modeling engine with change-management features including full-session undo/redo/reverse functionality. Other enhancements include support for Oracle's 10g and 9i database, component re-use capabilities, and a redesigned "complete compare" feature allowing users to analyze the potential impact of database design changes.

In addition to Oracle's database, CA's AllFusion Modeling Suite r7 supports IBM's DB2 for Linux, Unix and Windows; Microsoft's SQL Server; and other database software including Informix and Ingres.
