Nothing beats water skiing on Lake Erie.

This week's Favorite Place comes to us from Jerry Dawson, VP of business development at New Interactive in Portland, Ore.

"One of my absolute favorite places is Lake Erie, near Rocky River, Ohio, where I grew up. Nothing can take the place of an early summer morning water-ski run--say around 6 a.m., when the lake is a perfect piece of glass, the water is warm, and there's no one else within 20 miles.

"When I was younger, we would ski that pond for hours on such a day and nothing can replace that feeling! The V-8 in our Lyman boat would strain as we sometimes pulled six of us up at one time. To top off a morning like that, we would grab a burger with cheese and a chocolate malt at Bearden's, the drive-in of choice in Rocky River."

What's your favorite place? A backyard? A forest? A special corner in your neighborhood? Share it with the world. Send a brief account to [email protected] and [email protected].
