An environmentally friendly PC that uses less energy has a lead-free mainboard, and comes with an "end-of-life" disposal coupon has been introduced by Computer Technology Link.

Announced Tuesday, the CTL Meridian SL700 also uses 15 to 25 percent less energy than most PCs according to the firm, which also claims the PC is quieter than other PCs.

The CTL OC has an Intel Pentium 4 Processor 630 and a lead-free Intel 945GTPL mainboard. Packaging for the CTL Meridian has been designed for easy recycling, the company added.

"Several years ago we implemented a CTL computer recycling program to help prevent filling of landfills with hazardous materials," said Erik Stromquist, CTL vice president, in a statement. "Our new CTL green PC is a move to further our efforts to limit use of resources."
