Supply chain technology firm RedPrairie introduced a set of software applications and services designed to help companies meet the RFID-related mandates issued by Wal-Mart, the Department of Defense and other organizations.

The package, called RFID 360, includes an application called RFID Data Manager for handling input data filtering and aggregation. It also features two middleware options, one for companies in the pilot stage of RFID deployment and another for full RFID processing in line with one of the various mandates related to the technology.

RedPrairie also announced DLx Max, an RFID-enabled version of its supply chain execution and optimization suite. RedPrairie introduced the warehouse portion of the suite in April and plans applications for other parts of the supply chain this year.

RFID 360's service component includes training, installation, systems integration, pilot test design, project management, application and hardware selection, and other services.

Wal-Mart expects its 100 largest product suppliers to implement RFID tags at the pallet level by 2005. The Department of Defense has issued a similar directive to all its suppliers.
