Swivl the Robotic CameramanSwivl the Robotic Cameraman
Swivl is a robotic device which holds your camera phone and turns it to face whoever is holding its remote device. It can rotate 360 degrees and up and down +5-/20 degrees.

It can be tough to take pictures of yourself without someone to hold the camera, but Swivl can do it for you. It consists of a base unit that holds an iPhone or other small camera, and a remote with which the base unit communicates. When you move around with the remote, the camera follows you.
The remote and base primarily use IR (infrared) to track movement of the remote, but also some RF for sending commands. The device uses an iPhone app for certain controls, but there's an adapter for use with other phones or cameras. An Android app will be released later this year. Reservations for Swivl are available now for $159 at http://www.swivl.com/ and the device will ship in the first quarter.
