I like the Minecraft example. That is certainly a hit at my house. My kids have also used several of these other websites, so I agree that they are appealing to both genders.

STEM for girls

Minecraft
I never thought I'd use a video game as an example of a learning tool, but Minecraft has its benefits. Whenever my 10-year-old daughter has been using it, I find post-it notes with math around the computer. I watch her play with her friends to design and build houses and buildings and buy and barter equipment to make them. Some of her designs are really cool.
