Diversity is vital, commend Interop for addressing
With diversity of talent, opinions and backgrounds, an organization becomes more resilient and capable. To shamelessly plug my friend, www.Atipica.co is addressing this head-on in the valley, as are many other great orgs, from STEM camps for girls to the Miss Representation Project, Hack the Hood, and a hundred others.

In my mind it is like nature - business fragility and senility can come from environments of only white bread eating lab rats, a farm that grows all the same overly inbred plant easily susceptible to disease, or people all from the same school. New ideas and "fresh blood" helps companies be agile, creative. There is something to be said for diversity -- though something to be said for comfort level and not merely social engineering, too. Equal opps and encouragement of all individuals, and less pigeon holing, helps us all. Early day growth to latter day maturation and conservatism happens to all human organizations, if it is not watched out for by mindful leadership.

Of all fields, tech seems one of the more egalitarian to me. No industry can really claim to be "most diverse" - every field is in flux and can change. Thanks Interop. Keep up the good work.
