Re: Battery Packs
@yalanand, Given that batteries have a finite lifespan, the whole industry turns over about every three years. Eventually, all batteries have to be replaced, or the device does if the battery is non-replacable.

Re: Battery Packs
@jagibbons: I feel the need for all of them, even though I know some of them would be redundant in the coming years.

Re: Battery Packs
Smartphone batteries are already becoming more and more efficient. In 5 years time we wouldn't need a battery charger. That being said I heard Asus launched a 5000 mAh battery zenfone. They said it can also be used as a separate charging device for charging other phones.

Re: Noise cancelling Headphones
@Joe: Me too. I used to have noise cancellation headphones and used to take pride in them, before an employee told me why don't I use earplugs instead? I was such a fool till then.

Re: Looks like a tablet -- but not
@Michelle: I think Tablets should let them become portable monitors, you know, just displaying what you want it to display. Like screencasting.

Looks like a tablet -- but not
I haven't seen portable monitors before. I think I need one for all the travel I don't do! This is a great list overall.

Re: Noise cancelling Headphones
I used to use noise-cancelling headphones, but eventually I just switched to earplugs.  Cheaper and often more effective.  Sure, the noise-cancelling headphones are great for cancelling out the frequency of jet engine noises, but they don't do a lot about your overly talkative seat neighbors on the plane.

Re: Battery Packs
"I feel that battery packs are one of those things which we need while we are on the move."
Yes, I couldn't agree with you more. Actually, I recently bought one. Not a well known brand, but it is solar as well. Not bad really for 20 bucks.
I'd love to have one of those battery packs for laptops. But kinda expensive, aren't they?

Re: Great recommendations
Not sold on the Surface Book just yet. I've seen a number of reports online and from people I know about some issues. I use the Surface Pro 4 in tablet mode between 30 and 40% of the time. The pen input was a key factor for me as well. For me right now the Surface Pro 4 is the better of the choices.
