The question isn't how are you going to deploy virtual machines. The virtualizaiton software suppliers will make that easy for you. The question is how are you going to manage what you deploy? A small or medium-sized business has to think that issue through and have a plan before beginning large scale deployments. If you're already a System Center user, start there and see whether Virtual Machine Manager will do what you want. If you want maximum VM efficiency at minimum cost, think Red Hat KVM. If you want sophisticated virtualization, think Citrix -- or sophisticated plus a fully automated data center, VMware. Charlie Babcock, InformationWeek
