According to sales tabulations from the NPD Group, Apple's share of "premium" PCs --those selling for $1,000 or more -- has grown to 66 percent in the first quarter of the year. The data comes from sales in physical stores, where Apple's overall market share has grown to 14 percent. The data doesn't take into account mail-order sales, and of course Apple only has one computer that sells for less than $1,000. Nevertheless, said NPD's vice president of industry analysis Stephen Baker, "Consumers don't care about features. People see a value proposition in an offering that gives them a great experience."eWeek
