The speed of business, the pressure for immediate technology payoffs, and the expectations of you as a business technology executive have never been greater. Likewise, our media industry is going through a transformation. InformationWeek has been evolving at hyperspeed to add services, products, and content, supplying the information you need where and when you need it.

In addition to producing a weekly print magazine that serves as a filter to the gigs of information out there and a guide to agenda-setting issues, we have added RSS feeds, educational video, podcast/MP3 programming, interactive tools, and a diet of blogs and executive roundtables. This multimedia renaissance was led by former editor in chief Stephanie Stahl, who, after five years at the helm of InformationWeek, is taking on a new role at CMP Media, as editor in chief of streaming media. She will be working with InformationWeek and the dozens of other media properties across CMP to expand into various video formats.

With Stephanie's new role, I am excited to welcome Rob Preston as InformationWeek's editor in chief. Rob's face should be familiar: Before moving over to InternetWeek in 1999, and later to Network Computing, he spent three years in editorial management at InformationWeek. Rob brings an uncanny ability to identify and analyze the complex issues you face, and a healthy balance of optimism and skepticism. Check out Rob's point of view in his new weekly column, Down To Business.

Finally, thank you for sharing with us. We have spoken with many of you over the last six months and have been implementing many of your suggestions as your needs evolve. Keep them coming. We appreciate your being a member of the InformationWeek community, more than 1 million strong and growing.
