Review: The Rolleiflex MiniDigi

This digital retro camera looks and feels like the high-quality Rolleiflex of yesteryear. Unfortunately, it fails its namesake in the picture quality department.

The point isn't that the Rollei MiniDigi is an everyday camera for someone who wants to take snapshots, unless that someone wants to be noticed and look very cool. This camera, cute as it is, is best considered a limited edition collector's item for pop culture freaks or those who can't get enough of their Rollei cameras.

But remember that it shoots in an unusual square format, so you won't be able to take the memory card to your nearest film finisher so you'll have to print your own. And, because of other peculiarities of this camera, that's probably not such a good thing.

Rollei MiniDigi; Rollei Fototechnic; about $350.
