Continuing on what it says will be a billion-dollar buying spree, Hewlett-Packard said Thursday it has signed an agreement to acquire TruLogica Inc., a provider of provisioning software. Terms of the deal weren't disclosed.

TruLogica's software automates the management of user privileges across multiple technology systems, instantly allowing users access to the right IT resources according to predetermined policies and processes, HP said in a statement. It plans to integrate TruLogica into its OpenView Select Access software portfolio. In a typical IT environment, provisioning tasks are handled manually and can take an average of seven days to complete, HP said. With TruLogica, the process can be reduced to a few hours. HP has said it will spend around $1 billion to acquire companies and technologies to support its Adaptive Enterprise strategy. Last month, it said it plans to acquire Novadigm Inc. and Consera Software to enhance its automation capabilities. The Consera acquisition has been completed; the Novadigm deal is pending.
