re: EHRs Push Private Practice Docs Out of Business
It's no surprise that the cost of implementing EHR may push some doctors out of their private practice in the short-term. That cost being not directly associated with the software licensing itself, but training and implementation of new workflows. As AustinIT states in one of the comments, EMR becomes easier and less obtrusive as time goes on, but that initial push can put a substantial burden on the practice/business. Many times practices will have to reduce patient flow, hire outside consultants, modify software, change workflows, etc., which for a small practice can be all too much to handle.
