With Microsoft's big Windows 10 launch just over a month away, let's take a look at some recently released PCs that would be ripe for an OS upgrade.

With the impending launch of Windows 10, Microsoft's latest operating system, it might be time to consider upgrading computers, whether you own a personal machine or an entire corporate fleet. While any PC running Windows 8.1 or higher will be able to upgrade to the latest version of the platform, it's worth taking a look at the latest PCs on the market to see what the major players like Dell and HP are offering.
The official launch date for Windows 10 is July 29, and earlier this month the company unveiled pricing for the two versions it is putting out on the market.
The Home version of the software will cost $119, while the Pro edition will retail for $199, and Microsoft is making the upgrade free to customers who already have Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 installed on their PCs or tablets. This will be available for one year following Windows 10's official release, and is forecast to drastically spike adoption of the much-anticipated new platform.

Among the major features of the software upgrade are Cortana, a digital assistant named after an artificial intelligence character in Microsoft's Halo video game series, and Edge, an all-new browser that boasts features like the ability to write or type notes directly on Web pages and share them with others.
A recent survey by Adaptiva shows that 73% of large companies plan to utilize side-by-side replacements, which basically means deploying new computers with Windows 10. This is followed by 36% who plan to perform in-place upgrades.
With those plans in mind, here's a look at some of the news desktop PCs on the market that would be ideal machines to update to Windows 10.
What HP claims is the world's smallest business-class desktop works with the company's BIOSphere platform to create a security-enhanced and managed device with high dots per inch (DPI) scaling capabilities optimized for 4K resolution displays. Users have the option of a M.2 PCIe solid-state hard drive module, an internal 2.5-inch solid state drive (SSD), or even dual-drive configurations.
With its full HD wide-viewing-angle display and one-cord setup, the AMD-powered Inspiron 24 3000 Series is pitched at home users. It features an edge-to-edge touch-screen option, hard drive capacity choices up to 1TB, an optional optical disk drive, and 802.11n wireless technology.
This stylish PC features a brushed-metal finish front panel and AMD Beema processors with discrete Nvidia or AMD graphics providing enhanced display support. Asus is giving its potential customers a heads up regarding the Windows 10 upgrade with a "Buy one, get Windows 10 free" promotional page.
A sleek, space-saving design that runs Windows 8.1 64-bit OS and sports Intel Core processors, the C560 is ideal for an upcoming update to Windows 10. The two companies recently announced a partnership between Microsoft's Cortana and Lenovo's REACHit technologies for Windows 10 devices.
For media-hungry users, the Acer offers select T Series models with storage expandable to as many as six drives, each holding up to 3TB. Along with standard hard-drive and optical-drive expansion bays, select models also provide PCI and PCI-e expansion slots. Users can also transfer media with the easy-access card reader or swift USB 3.0.
Featuring business-class Intel Core M processors, the notebook also includes the company's BIOSphere and Touchpoint Manager technologies. It is designed to pass MIL-STD 810G durability tests for drop, shock, and vibration. Other features include an HD webcam, the immersive DTS Studio Sound with stereo speakers, a dual-array microphone, and HP Noise Reduction Software.
A virtually borderless InfinityEdge display with optional touch is this notebook's standout feature, which also includes a fifth-generation Intel Core i5 Processor, a 128GB Solid State Drive, and 8GB of memory. Dell is also promoting the device by highlighting the free upcoming Windows 10 upgrade.
Featuring up to eight hours of battery life, the flexible, portable Yoga lets users choose among four modes -- laptop, stand, tablet, and tent -- while the system automatically switches system settings and locks the keyboard in place. Optional Active Pen technology provides a natural, fluid writing experience and lets users take notes, sign documents, annotate PDFs, and more.
Acer's flagship touchscreen notebook features an Intel Core i7-5500U dual-core 2.40 GHz processor, an SSD, USB 3.0 technology, and scratch-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass, as well as Acer's Ezel Hinge, which lets users convert to different modes with one hand, but keeps the touchscreen stable when they are tapping and scrolling.
We're jumping the gun a little bit on this last one, as the company's latest Transformer Book will actually come pre-loaded with Windows 10, so you don't even have to worry about upgrading this versatile device, which will run on quad-core Intel Atom Cherry Trail X5 processors and 4GB of RAM.

For that price you get an Intel Atom Processor Z3735F, 2GB of memory, and 32GB of storage, all on a device that fits in the palm of your hand.
