Infosys To Offer Outsourcing Services To Hospitality Industry

The services will come from an alliance between Infosys and HVS International, a consultancy offering valuation and other services to the hotel, restaurant, gaming, and leisure industries.

Indian outsourcer Infosys Technologies said Monday that it has formed an alliance with HVS International, a New York-based consultancy offering valuation and other services to the hotel, restaurant, gaming, and leisure industries, to offer a range of outsourced offerings to the hospitality industry.

The Infosys-HVS global alliance will draw on HVS' consulting expertise and market reach in the hospitality industry and Infosys' business services offerings to develop business-process outsourcing and IT-based outsourcing services aimed at improving productivity for customers in the global hospitality industry, Infosys said in a filing with the Bombay Stock Exchange.

Financial arrangements were not disclosed.

"The alliance with HVS augments Infosys BPO's capabilities in the hospitality industry by enhancing our insights into the industry and enabling us to reach a wider audience," Amitabh Chaudhry, CEO and managing director, Infosys BPO, said in a statement.

Infosys booked BPO revenues of about $85.5 million in 2006, according to the company. Shares of Infosys closed down 2.6% in Monday trading on the Mumbai exchange.
