Lombardi Software introduced a new version of its business process management (BPM) software, with improvements in modeling, process simulation and activity monitoring.

TeamWorks 5, which Lombardi announced Monday, is designed to let users graphically define elements for process modeling. The software includes capability that lets companies use projected or historical data to simulate business processes. Version 5 also allows the graphic modeling of users' business activity monitoring (BAM) efforts.

The software supports the Business Process Modeling Notation, a standard from the non-profit Business Process Management Initiative that's designed to bring consistency to BPM design, deployment and execution. Lombardi said its adherence to the standard will let users of TeamWorks 5 interact with process drawings developed in other modeling environments, for instance.

Lombardi did not reveal the cost of TeamWorks 5.

Lombardi's products are designed with what the vendor calls its "Shared Model," which synchronizes the views of different individuals involved in BPM modeling, implementation, execution and performance measurement.
