Open Text Extends Legal eDiscovery Support To eDocs

Open Text has extended its latest eDiscovery software for corporate legal departments and law firms to its eDocs content management system.

The eDiscovery Early Case Assessment tool is powered by Recommind's search-powered information risk management software. By adding support for eDocs, legal customers using the Open Text system can reduce the need for third-party processing of document reviews, according to the vendor.

EDiscovery enables users to assess, collect, preserve and process electronically stored information in eDocs. The Early Case Assessment software helps organization assess the legal merits of a case and defensibly manage legal holds and collection for discovery, regulatory and compliance requests.

Open Text's content management software is used to support law firms' business practices andcompliances needs throughout a case life cycle, from client intake through final disposition. The vender claims that 70 of the AmLaw 100 firms use its software.

The eDiscovery support for eDocs was announced this week at the LegalTech conference in New York.
