SaaS Use: By The Numbers
EY survey finds security, identity management, systems management likely areas of future growth.
A survey of 195 CIOs and IT managers by Parthenon-EY’s technology practice of Ernst & Young, one of the four business units of the former Ernst & Young, found that software-as-a-service will not only continue to grow, but will command a larger share of the IT budget.
CIOs and IT managers who recognize the role it has to play, and who can work with business units when they select a SaaS provider, will be better positioned for the future, according to Barak Ravid, managing director and co-head of technology, Parthenon-EY of Ernst & Young. But half of survey respondents regretted the rise of SaaS among business units and wished the funds devoted to it could be brought back into the IT budget.
