Good Technology has released an upgrade of its GoodLink wireless messaging solution. The company said that its GoodLink 4.8 release, available Monday, will support up to 1,500 users on a singe server while at the same time offering several new features including improved security and reliability additions.

The GoodLink 4.8 management console enables easier segmentation of users as well as improved family filtering.

"Administrators can now deploy GoodLink via pre-loaded removable storage," the firm's announcement stated. "This provides customers that wish to centrally provision devices with the ability to get multiple devices up and running within minutes."

GoodLink 4.8 also offers compliance features ensuring that many mandated applications run as required. An infrared electronic beaming feature allows handheld users to transmit electronic business cards among GoodLink users.

In an e-mail, a GoodLink spokesman said the features unveiled Monday represent a "mix of new and upgraded features to the current version of GoodLink 4.5."
