Kalido is using partners to offer its business intelligence software as a managed service.
The Axis Group and the Project Performance Corp. are the first to offer Kalido infrastructure software as a subscription-based managed service. Kalido's Information Engine comprises three components: Information Modeler, Dynamic Information Warehouse and the Universal Information Director. The software is optimized for use with Microsoft's SQL Server Analysis Services. Kalido software also uses Microsoft's Excel spreadsheets to display BI data. Kalido Information Modeler provides a graphical design interface for developing and refining business requirements for information. Instead of modeling data and their structures, the tool enables users to model parts of a business, customers, products, assets, and transactions; and define how they want to see the information in context. The models are then used with Dynamic Information Warehouse to "auto-generate" a warehouse or data mart. The Universal Information Director is used to create and manage reports. Kalido executives believe companies with revenues of less than $500 million are the best target for managed services. For companies wanting to offer the vendor's BI tools on a subscription basis, licenses starts at $5,000 a month. Among the first to use Kalido software as a managed service is Consortium Health Plans, a national coalition of nearly 20 Blue Cross Blue Shield plans.
