Evoke Software and Similarity Systems will integrate their respective data quality management technologies to produce software designed to ease data migration initiatives, the companies said Wednesday.

The agreement will combine Axio software from Evoke and Athanor software from Similarity. Axio automates data profiling and analysis, while Athanor is designed for identifying and correcting data quality problems.

The firms plan to target customers engaged in business intelligence, data warehouse and systems migration initiatives. Their combined technology will be designed to identify data quality issues early in such initiatives and then cleanse and standardize data. The firms will offer data profiling, content analysis, matching and data enhancement.

Evoke and Similarity plan to jointly market the new product. Evoke, East Hanover, N.J., is a unit of Conversion Services International, a firm that focuses on data warehousing, business intelligence and data management. Similarity is based in Dublin, Ireland.
